Because the Fluorophlogopite mica is grown under strict process conditions and material ratio (otherwise mica crystals cannot be generated), its texture is very pure and its electrical properties are very good. The volume resistivity is 1015~1016 Ω · cm (about 1000 times higher than that of natural mica); the electric breakdown strength is 185~238 kV/mm, which is 10 times that of PTFE; it can work at 1100 ℃ for a long time.

Fluorophlogopite mica accompanied the Shenzhou 8 spacecraft to the world
Fluorophlogopite mica belongs to the silicate class of artificial mica crystal. It melts in a high temperature environment of 1500 ℃. Because of its excellent insulation performance, in 2007, the 13th Institute of Shijiazhuang of CLP Group in China for Shenzhou VIII spacecraft to make insulation sheets, which replaces natural mica.
